Redshank

5 Sep

This morning I managed to dun a trip to Farlington Marshes before I had to go to work. There were people there. Some were manual labourers. Others spoke to me. “Hello”. Like that. At least none were females though.

I seen a few things. I seen redshanks. Redshanks get their name in much the same way as a greenshank but with red instead of green. I’ve still no info on the whole thigh issue for either so stop asking.

And I also seen this warbler which I think is a cetti’s warbler. It could be a sofa’s warbler though. HAHAHAHA! That was another of my jokes which are funny you may laugh now. (Andymus reckons this might actually be a spotted flycatcher (see comments below). I dunno. What do you think?)

I also seen these black-tailed godwits getting all up in each other’s beaks. Godwits are notoriously gangstery and frequently are doing all drive-by-peckings and that.

And I seen this what I don’t know what it is. I mean, I know it is a bird, duh, but like not what one.

And I seen all these other birds that I am too bored to do naming. You can mouse-over them if you really want to know.

The one you didn’t know looks like a Whitethroat. Buy I don’t know if it’s a lesser whitethroat or a greater whitethroat and not entirely sure if it’s either.

I thought it was too big. But that might have been an optical illusion. Whitethroats are famous for not being as far away as you thought.

Sorry, I meant check Spotted Fly for your Cetti’s Warbler. For the other unknown one, how about juvenile Starling?
