Radipole Lake

16 Jul

On Sunday 12th I went to Radipole Lake in Weymouth to seen some birds. I was hoping to seen a mediterranean gull because I have not seen a mediterranean gull before Sunday 12th. I also did not on Sunday 12th. Or since Sunday 12th. This is a dreadful way to try and fill the time between birth and death. Sweet death. Wonderful welcoming death. It was a great day.

Marsh harrier and swift unaware of each other probably or having a fight maybe. I don't know. I never claimed to be your god, you just made me one.

Marsh harrier. Again. Might be a different one. Might not.

My best guess is reed warbler. Could just as easily be any other brown bird. Let's pretend it is a horsefinch just for some excitement. Ooh look at this horse finch. No. Didn't work. Still bored.

Great spotted woodpecker. If you join up the spots on a great spotted woodpecker's back it makes a drawing of Jesus in a Nazi uniform.

Osprey?

3 Sep

It was a dark and stormy night when I went back to Thorney Island on a clear, bright morning this morning. I wanted another shot at seening the osprey. I seen this bird of prey on one of the posts. It is almost certainly the osprey. But as it is hunched over with its back to the camera I ain’t gonna cross it off the list like. Still cool though. Might try digiscoping it later in the week. (edit: I failed to get a better picture, changed my mind and crossed it off the list. Get over it.)

Also, I seen this reed warbler. I’m as sure as I can be that it is a reed warbler. Warblers are difficult innit.

And a load of swallows.

And a grey heron.

Might drop the dramatic writing. soz.
